*Tied* Ranked 7th – Los Angeles IronmenWatch the Ironmen, and the 20 best paintball teams on earth, battle at the next NXL event in Philadelphia, only on GoSports.com, June 21st-23rd!The LA Ironmen are the longest running professional paintball team in existence and they have won world titles during three different eras of the game. But it’s been 10 long years since they have sat at the top of the podium. The team has seen many different incarnations since then in an attempt to recreate the magic of the win. Their new roster could be the one to summon the spirit and keep the championship legacy of The Shield intact.Another rebuild is underway but through two events the Ironmen are ranked 7th, tied with Revo in the overall standings, and have shown a few flashes of brilliance. They went 2-2 in the prelims at NXL Vegas and took tenth, getting knocked out by Dynasty in the wild card round by one point. Then in Texas they went 3-1 in the prelims, beat Revo in the wild card round and then got knocked out by X-Factor by one point in the Quarter-finals. It’s been close. The Ironmen squad is playing hungry and are looking to prove themselves. In Texas, the best player on the team was Alan Goulding and it wasn’t even close. He had multiple clutch moments and led the team in kills, saving point after point in a near flawless performance. Trevor Resar continues to elevate his game and is a huge spark plug for the Ironmen’s diverse attack. On the snake side that attack is led by Kyle Spicka who is unarguably one of best snake players in the game. LJ Parrish can also be found in the snake as he was picked up for his speed and his aggression. On the D-side look for both Thomas Kim and Corey Hall to push forward and win points. Thomas Kim played up the center in Texas and played well, showing the diversity of his game.AL Fernandez is a capable veteran who always seems to have crazy moves up his sleeve. And Dan Norcross is back from his broken hand looking to earn spins. The Ironmen have been a team in transition, but they’ve made four Sundays in row, we’ll see if they can make it five in Philly.
