Tune into Gosports.com May 3rd - 5th and watch the Ironmen battle at the 2nd stop of the NXL US Tour in Texas. The longest running professional paintball franchise, Los Angeles Ironmen are again on another rebuild and they came into the first event in Vegas with a skeleton squad. They’re rebuilding with young hungry up and coming players because in the offseason they lost Bobby Aviles to Ac Dallas, Damien Ryan to a long break, and Greg Siewers to Impact.Coach Todd Martinez picked up Thomas Kim from DMG, LJ Parrish from Infamous, Dan Norcross from Mutiny, and Corey Hall from Elevation. But Dan Norcross had broken his hand before the event and Corey Hall missed the tournament to get married so the Ironmen were down to 6 players. They started off the event by winning their first two games against the Outlaws and NYX, but then lost both of their matches on Saturday to Heat and rookie sensations Aftermath to go 2-2 and squeak into the wild card round, where they matched up with Dynasty. It was close battle, but Dynasty won the game 3-2 and moved on.But the core of the team is strong: Kyle Spicka is one of the best snake side attackers in the league, Trevor Resar is coming off the best year of his career, and Alan Goulding was the team’s rock in Vegas. With those solid veterans and the hunger of their new players to win should only produce positive outcomes for the Ironmen. If they can all get on the same page and they should improve on their 10th place finish in Texas.
