Scouting Report - 9 - SD AftermathRanked 9th -- SD AftermathWatch Aftermath, and the 20 best paintball teams on earth, battle at the next NXL event in Philadelphia, only on GoSports.com, June 21st-23rd!After shocking the NXL pro league by making it all the way to the semi-finals in Vegas, beating legends and world champs along the way, and taking 3rd place in their very first event as a pro team, San Diego Aftermath lost every single prelim game at the second event in Texas and finished 17th overall. It was the worst the team had ever done at a major event, going all the way back to the previous incarnation of Aftermath ten years ago. From 3rd to 17th place is far to fall, but let’s not get it twisted, you don’t make it into the semi-finals in the NXL pro division on luck alone.nAftermath is still a strong and talented young team and those four prelim losses could catapult their game to the next level. If they use the lessons of the loss, it should only make them stronger in the long run.Their starting five will continue to be dangerous, but they might need to switch positions and players up just enough to be less easy to scout. Their bowling ball on the D-side Frank Antetomaso had a very hard time staying alive on the break in Texas after his phenomenal showing in Vegas. And they are going to need him to stay on the field and push forward if they’re going to have any chance to make Sunday in Philly.Garret Baldwin and David Barga have been doing well on the snake side with their combination of smart gunfights and aggression when needed.Rob Velez has great reads up the center and can cause chaos to help break open points. And like Barga, Tom Guest will need to shoot bodies, hold down lanes and filter up the field where and when needed with the high level timing he showed us in Vegas. Aftermath also has lots of talent in the pits looking for chance to get spins and prove themselves.Aftermath is currently ranked 9th overall and with three events left to go, will be out for blood and redemption at the next event in Philly.
