Ranked #1 - Edmonton ImpactTune into Gosports.com May 3rd - 5th and watch Impact battle at the 2nd stop of the NXL US Tour in Texas. The first NXL event for Edmonton Impact was one of redemption. After getting dethroned by Houston Heat at World Cup It didn’t take long for Impact to reclaim their title as the best team in paintball.Thought they went through rather drastic changes to their long-time lineup in the offseason, it had nothing but a positive effect on their performance at the first event in Las Vegas. Keith Brown, Dalton Vanderbyl, Raney Stanczak, all all-stars in their positions, are gone, replaced by Tim Brusselback, Alex Rosati and Greg Siewers.Though Impact has historically run two lines until Sunday they quickly dialed in their starting five after getting reps for all their players, and that starting five blasted through the prelims, winning every game, though they only beat Revo by one. They then went undefeated on Sunday taking down X-Factor, Russian Legion, and then getting revenge on Heat in the finals. Their attack was led on a difficult snake side by the aggressive machine, Alex Goldman, who played the lion’s share of the points and was in the running for the Top Gun all the way into the last game, where teammate Justin Rabackoff ended up taking the Carbon Golden Barrel Top Gun trophy with an outstanding overall performance. Greg Siewers, in his first event back with the squad, handled business admirably on the D-side. Nick Leival and Zach Yachimec were both looking sharp in route to the victory. In Texas, Impact is again the team to beat sitting at the very top of the NXL pro paintball standings.
